EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report).
Our expert electricians are here to help you get your electrics certified for your peace of mind.
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a report to establish the overall condition of all the fixed electrics in your property, stating whether it is satisfactory for continued use and detailing any work that may need carried out.
For Landlords it is a legal requirement to have their properties inspected and tested every 5 years. The regulation came into force 1st June 2020.
The EICR involves our qualified electricians carrying out a comprehensive test of the condition of your property’s electrical installation. Our electrician will check the condition of the electrics against the UK standard for the safety of electrical installations, BS 7671 – Requirements for Electrical Installations (IET Wiring Regulations). A report is then produced outlining whether the installation is satisfactory or unsatisfactory. If the outcome of the test is unsatisfactory, our electrician will produce a list of items that will need to be rectified in order for the installation to be certified as satisfactory.
If there is anything minor that may fail the inspection we will try and remedy during test free of charge. Anything that may take a bit of time or involves replacement of components can be fixed for a fee providing we have the time on the day.
The EICR you receive will be in PDF format.
If you have purchased a new home and you do not know the state of your electrical installation we can also advise you on electrical works you may have to carry out if you are planning to refurbish the property. Many people make the mistake of carrying out finishing works before thinking about their services which can be a costly mistake.
